Kassie Hawkins has been a freelance writer for 1 year. She has a B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Women and Gender Studies from the University of Texas @ San Antonio.

Prior to her transfer to UTSA, she was a student at Penn State University where she served as "Opinon Editor" for the school newspaper, The Roar. She also wrote various articles for underground newspapers in and around Harrisburg, PA.

Kassie is employed full-time for a non-profit organization that supports elderly people that used to be homeless. She is also a part-time childcare provider. In her free time, she plays on a roller derby league in New England.
